Rose & Thistle 4 v 5 Wellington Select - Division 2

The Strange Case Of Team Jekyll & Hyde

I am half expecting a knock on the door at any moment from the X-files team investigating sightings in Frimley of 11 DR. Jekyll’s and Mr Hyde’s on Sunday morning at Kings International football pitch. The appearance was so bad that the church goers were asking me if this happens here every Sunday.. if so they hold a prayer meeting for us.

I could say yet another week of players away, players injured and players turning up late, but to be truthful that’s the norm now.

1st Half - Lets get it over with, 3-0 down in the first 20 mins. Shocking team display, lack of commitment regardless of what you say, lack of conviction, lack of will to make the effort after ALL the hard work of last season to get us into this Division.. no pride. If any of that smarts or you feel is unjust then good.. perhaps it might spark you into life for the rest of your playing career. Not playing properly for 90 mins is Cardinal sin in my book, end of. So after being very gracious and giving yet another team a head start Waygood manged to get 1 back with a nice diving header. 1-3 down at half time.

2nd Half - One half time change and it was very easy, Gray off Scales on change to a 442. Now a different subject, I’ll say it here, if I ever hear people whine at me for not getting picked and then say “I don’t want to play in that position” trust me you’ll be lucky to get a game again unless we were are short. It is this sort of attitude that is getting us no where. Just in case you get any wrong ideas, that comment is not aimed at Adam but at the whole team.

The second half was better but again why wait until now to pick up the game. An unlucky OG by Waygood pushed Wellington into a 4-1 lead, but straight back came Thistle with Buncey chipping in a nice goal 4-2. We should kick on from here and pick up at least a point .. oh no.. we concede again to make it 5-2 Wellington. Goals from Waygood and a nice goal from MOM gadsen straight from the corner set up a Grandstand finish but you really can’t expect anything from being 3-0 down. Final Score 5-4 to Wellington... yet another 3 points dropped in a league that I personally think is easier than Division 3 and that we should be the ones pushing Falcons at the top .

Finally I make no apologies for this write, perhaps you guys ought to get together and speak some home truths otherwise next year in Div 3 you’ll look back and know that you pissed Division 2 away.

M.O.M - Gadsen, now he has found his happy head there’s no stopping him!
